Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Player the Athlete
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they have knowledge of claims of abuse made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of player Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the league office.
The organization did not mention the player by name in their announcement and noted they would have “no further comment at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice by name, posted a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has kids with the football player, whom the Chiefs selected in the second round.
Official Complaints Currently Not on File
No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice's Prior Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the first six games of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that resulted in multiple people injured. He was sentenced a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
